If you're one of those tall, skinny beanpoles of a woman, you can probably carry off a string bikini look. Don't worry, we'll still hate you for it. If you're a little shorter, or, heaven forfend, have a chest that needs actual support, you may want to get a more conventional two piece suit, since you won't have your long midriff to give you visual balance.

Now, once you've got your handkerchiefs and dental floss, there are some basic bits of bikini etiquette you should be aware of. There's such a thing as appropriate attire, even on the beach. Now, If you go to a naturist beach, appropriate attire is sunglasses and a smile. If you're at a family water park, a string bikini may show off all your assets – even to people who really don't want to see it. Be modest – even if you think it won't harm anyone to see your bikini wax job, the mothers of the kids there may not agree with your assessment. On the other hand, if you're at an adults only resort, feel free to let it all hang out – whatever you're comfortable with will work just fine.

Now, string bikinis are also made for men. Remember what I said about Speedos and beer guts? Same thing applies, in spades, to string bikini briefs for guys. Ode to the Tankini

Let heaven shine down upon whomever invented the tankini – it is the perfect mix between a one-piece swimming suit and a bikini. A tankini is like the offspring of a loving bikini/one-piece couple.

Well, enough with that, let us talk more about the tankini. A woman should be able to wear whatever she wants to the beach – there are no age limits or size limits on who can wear bikinis and who cannot. A woman should be able to wear whatever she feels comfortable in.

Of course, unfortunately, some women do not always feel comfortable wearing a bikini – a bikini expose so much skin (and bulges beneath that skin!) Even women who felt perfectly comfortable wearing a bikini, even a string bikini, in their youth may not feel so comfortable wearing a bikini after having a couple of children. This, in no way, means that a woman should not be allowed to wear a one. Again, a woman should wear whatever she feels comfortable wearing.

Tankinis are great alternatives to bikinis. Many more woman are likely to feel more comfortable with themselves in one rather than a bikini. And why shouldn’t they? A tankini can be very flattering on most women.

A tankini is great because it is more modest than a bikini. Also, it has a bit more flair than most one-piece swimming suits. Another great thing about tankinis is that if you still want to tan your entire stomach, you simply need to roll up your tankini top to expose your belly as you lay out in the sun. Just try to do that with a one-piece!

A woman will feel most comfortable in a tankini not just because she knows she looks good, but because a tankini is also comfortable in a physical sense, as well. Most women are not used to having to put on a anything like a one-piece suit during an average day. Women are, on the other hand, used to pulling on a pair of underwear and a tank top, though. And this is pretty much what a tankini looks and feels like. Also, a tankini stays in place better than a bikini. You do not need to worry about those waves crashing down on you and stealing your suit!

Tankinis come in a wide variety of styles, just as bikinis and other swimming suits do. You can find ones that pretty much cover your entire stomach or tankini tops that end well above the belly button. There are tankinis with a bandeau top style and ones that come with boy short bottoms or string bikini bottoms. There are tankinis that come in a variety of fabrics as well – the patterns on the fabric of a tankini can be more exciting and brilliant than those of a bikini because, well, there is more fabric to work with.

Before you decide to hide at home and not go out to the beach at all this year because you do not want to put on a bikini or a frumpy one-piece (although, there are very cute one-piece swimsuits out there!), try on a tankini. It might just be the answer to all of your prayers. Besides, they are also very trendy right now, so you know that you will be in fashion when you wear one!

Without taking any of these major issues too lightly, it would seem that they have all had a positive effect on the economy in terms of boosted revenue for many businesses. The fact that we Brits are spending our money here rather than in Spain or France must be a good thing for the country as a whole.

Without climate change it would be fair to assume that the demand for bikini swimsuits would fall, however, this is not the case because on hot summer days beaches up and down the United Kingdom are full of holiday makers taking advantage of what we have to offer, safe in the knowledge that they won't be stuck in an airport playing the luggage lottery in a week and that they won't have to plant a forest in order to carbon neutralise their air travel.

I Never Knew a Tan-Through Bikini Even Existed

I tried on a tan-through bikini for the first time! I thought what you're probably thinking right now- "yeah, right, this isn't going to work!" However, once I put it on, I found that it did exactly what the tan-through technology said it was going to do.

The material is very easy to take care of and is very durable. For example, when I'm playing beach volleyball, I'm diving into the sand after the ball, jumping up to spike the ball and I still have everything intact, if you know what I mean. This is a good thing! You will also have the peace of mind knowing that the tan-through bikini is NOT see through when either wet or dry. A tan-through bikini washes well and is fast drying which makes it a great travel partner.

The tan through bikini is made from a lightweight fabric with millions of tiny invisible pores. These pores keep you cool and dry by letting perspiration out, and at the same time it allows you to get that all over tan by letting half the sunlight through.

Always remember that when you are wearing a tan through bikini your entire body is getting sun and not only your exposed skin. Always wear at least a SPF 6-10 or higher under your tan through bikini because your skin is now getting sun for the first time so protect yourself accordingly. Your new bikini acts as a medium level sunscreen and for some people this is enough protection, for others it is not. It is better to use more sunscreen than too little at first until you build a base tan. There will be areas of your body that will want to sing and dance after experiencing a dose of vitamin D rays. This is normal. Anyway, let's leave the singing and dancing for another article.

The bikini has always been the bathing suit of choice for me. Bikinis have transformed into an entirely new realm of advancement for women's swimwear that now allows women to wear their favorite style bikini without compromising style for functionality. It is also very important to make sure you receive the best fit with a tan-through bikini so please take note that the women's sizes run a bit smaller than normal.

I am now a very loyal tan-through bikini wearer and have a variety of tan through bikinis that make me look hot but feel cool all day long! I feel that I have the best of both worlds- an even tan with no lines and a great-fitting bikini, all in one.
